Selection Process
Recruitment examination stages
- 1Stage 1: Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type - Screening)
- 2Stage 2: Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written Descriptive - 9 Papers, 1750 Marks)
- 3Stage 3: Personality Test / Interview (275 Marks)
- 4Stage 4: Final Selection Merit List (Total 2025 Marks) and Service Allocation
- Prelims Paper I: General Studies (100 Questions, 200 Marks, 2 Hours)
- Prelims Paper II: CSAT Aptitude (80 Questions, 200 Marks, 2 Hours, Qualifying at 33%)
- Negative Marking: 1/3rd (0.33) of marks assigned to each question deducted for wrong answers
- Main Written Exam: 9 Descriptive Papers (Papers A & B Indian Language/English Qualifying 300 marks each; Papers I to VII 250 marks each for ranking)
- Interview / Personality Test: 275 Marks
